What is needle coke?

Needle coke is a high-purity type of petroleum coke produced from selected low-sulfur, aromatic petroleum oils (e.g., decant oil or FCC decant oil), characterized by:

  • Long, needle-shaped crystalline structure
  • High electrical conductivity
  • Very low ash and sulfur content
